The Associate Director of Programs in UCLA Anderson's Office of Executive Education (EE), reporting to the Senior Account Director, fills a critical role in fulfilling EE's business and organizational strategy. The incumbent is responsible for the development and administration of management development programs for EE. S/he is responsible for program development, client relations, financial analysis and management, faculty relations, and logistical implementation of a portfolio of approximately 12-18 custom and open enrollment executive education programs per year, serving approximately 700 executive-level participants annually. S/he is responsible for the creation of an optimal learning environment for participants and an optimal teaching environment for faculty. S/he collaborates with key stakeholders, and coordinates faculty and staff to deliver high quality executive education programs that build client confidence in EE.

In addition to managing a portfolio of his/her own programs and working as an active Program Manager, as described above and below, the Associate Director holds supervisory and training responsibility for a staff of Program Managers. This includes maintaining quality excellence across the EE portfolio, instituting standardization for program logistics and event operations, and overseeing staff who are responsible for all details associated with program implementation. This program staff services 1,500- 2,500 executive-level participants annually. Importantly, the incumbent is responsible for assigning program managers to specific programs, ensuring alignment with the EE program calendar and creating and enforcing specific logistical and program-related processes. S/he creates training manuals and processes and trains subordinates on the "EE Way" for servicing clients, participants and faculty. As the first point of contact for problem-solving for program management team, s/he effectively handles problems related to the programs, faculty, and participants and systematizes the solution and problem-solving process for future occurrences. S/he develops program sites, implements and standardizes cost-effective processes and procedures to increase EE and program revenue and net income.

As a Program Manager and Supervisor, responsibilities include the design and implementation of open-enrollment and custom executive programs, including determination of educational goals and development of program curriculum. Assess the effectiveness of faculty. Provide strategic analysis of EE in relation to competitors by conducting research on competitors and competitive programming. Price programs, considering revenues, margins, marketplace potential, and competition. Administer and execute all details associated with program implementation. Professionally represent UCLA EE at meetings with corporate executives and sponsors, professional groups, and faculty to discuss new and continuing programs. Inspect, visit, and develop potential program sites. Implement cost effective processes. Understand the tenets of adult learning theory and provide analysis and input into curriculum and program design that improves the learning experience and enhances the reputation of UCLA EE. Form strategic partnerships with appropriate organizations. Develop, administer and oversee financial budgets. Analyze costs, make and implement budgetary changes, and manage financial performance for programs, with overall profit and loss, revenue and expense responsibility. Implement procedures to increase group and program revenue and net income. Achieve financial targets for all programs. Evaluate the profitability potential of prospective programs and find ways to improve financial performance with effective program budgeting. Ability to attend offsite client programs and client meetings at local, out-of-state, and international locations.

Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least five years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated intensive program implementation, event management, and logistics skills, with proven experience in organizing, planning, and executing small and large-scale complex projects, events, programs, workshops, and conferences, including program implementation and logistics. Ability to create, modify, and implement policies, procedures, and forms to increase efficiency.
