JOB SUMMARY: Physician, Chief Ambulatory Care North East, VA Montana Health Care System, One full time permanent position located in one of the following: Great Falls, MT, Fort Harrison, MT or Bozeman, MT.To fulfill President Lincoln's promise â€" "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" â€" by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's Veterans.How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate care to Veterans?The VA Montana Health Care ! System provides a VA presence in every major city in the state! through a series of community based clinics, a community living center, and an acute care medical center.Fort Harrison (Helena) is a 48-bed acute care, medical-surgical facility that offers a broad range of acute, chronic, and specialized inpatient and outpatient services for both male and female veterans. Specialty care includes internal medicine, gerontology, neurology, palliative care, pain management, medical oncology, surgery (general, vascular, laparoscopic, endoscopic), urology, orthopedics, plastic, ophthalmology, ENT, podiatry, gynecology, chiropractic care, psychiatry (including outpatient substance abuse treatment and PTSD and MST specific care), and ambulatory care (primary care). Radiology Service provides a broad range of diagnostic and interventional care provided on a full time basis. Pathology Services are available on site also provided on a full time basis. Telemedicine services are available for psychiatry, radiology, gynecology, primary care, ophthalmo! logy and tele-home health. The 24-bed inpatient mental health facility serves patients needing treatment for PTSD, Substance Abuse and Acute Care.POSITION: Physician â€" Chief, Ambulatory Care Northeast â€" One Vacancy â€" Full-time, permanent position to include 0.5 FTEE administrative duties and 0.5 FTEE clinical duties. This position is with Ambulatory Care at the VA Montana Health Care System and can be located in any one of the following: Great Falls, MT, Fort Harrison, MT, or Bozeman, MT. The incumbent will perform duties in Administration as well as Pri! mary Care. S/he serves as a primary care physician providing a full range of services to veterans including telemedicine duties, supervising clinics, and seeing patients in an outpatient setting.

Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: a. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part.)b. Education. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from ! one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: (1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.(4) For residents, graduation from an approved medical school as described above is required except as provided in M-8, part II, chapter 1.c. Licensure and Registration. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physici! an must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this! is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country.d. Board Certification. Current board certification in an appropriate specialty or specialties or physician must possess comparable competence.
