Job Description:
The Claims Center of Excellence department plays a crucial role with our clients, advisors, sponsors and members as we offer them financial help when they most need it. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to hold a position as a Long Term Care Claims Adjudicator OR Senior Claims Adjudicator depending on experience and knowledge. The position offers the possibility to progress internally through our career ladder.
Job Description: As a Long Term Care Claims Adjudicator OR Senior Claims Adjudicator you are in charge of primary assessing Long Term Care claims in your authority.
Main Accountabilities:
- Determine how the contract applies to each claim
- Assess claims and medical documentation received for a claim in order to reach a decision
- Communicate clearly and proactively with clients, advisors and various professionals and effectively manage their expectations
- Maintain established service standards
- Evaluate opportunities for process improvements and actively participate in team initiatives and projects
Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle written and telephone inquiries of a sensitive nature
- 2-3 years in a claims environment
- Attention to detail
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to provide quality service
- Ability to balance high work volumes and telephone inquiries
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Requirements:
- Solid PC skills
- As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only to answer calls from English and French-speaking clients across Canada or worldwide.
- Experience in a claims environment
- ALHC diploma or dedication to work towards attaining it.
Assets:
- Education involving knowledge of Medical terminology
- College diploma/university degree/CEGEP degree or relevant experience
- Client service experience
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
