Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable / Receivable


 

Our client is hiring an Accounting Specialist to assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables, perform account reconciliations, manage inventory data and processes, and handle foreign currency accounting needs. Ultimately, the Accounting Specialist will work with the accounting team to ensure the organization’s expenditures are accurate and accounting practices are standardized across the organization.

Located in Orange, CA, they offer a flexible work schedule and the opportunity to work from home one day a week. What you'll do

  • Assist with US Accounts Payable and Account Receivable in a timely manner.
  • Manage Inventory data and process including invoicing for US & receiving and invoicing for BV & UK.
  • Handle foreign currencies and foreign entity Accounts Payable.
  • Code items such as invoices, vouchers, receivables, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the ERP System.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and resolve vendor correspondence.
  • Prepare and initiate check requests, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly and bring discrepancies to the attention of the Controller.
  • Receive, research, and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons and remittance advices to external parties.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records and reports.
  • Assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.
  • Complete special projects as needed.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of general accounting experience with duties in AP and AR and in a high transaction environment.
  • Experience with managing inventory processes and foreign currencies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a team and customer focus.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
