Job Summary:

ABC is looking for a Director, Branding and Design to join our off-air print creative team. We are looking for a person who has experience in multiplatform creative, with a strong background in graphic design and print creative. This person will be responsible for developing creative campaigns, from ideation through production, across all platforms with a focus on Key Art and Print.

Areas of concentration range from Key Art creative and execution, photo shoot support, art directing creative service requests, creating, or reformatting creative for digital creative and formats, design across network and branded events, as well as executive presentations and mailers.

This person will function as both a conceptual image maker and art director, collaborating and mentoring designers, both in and out of house, in the day-to-day production of creative design solutions that serve the company’s strategic needs while maintaining brand consistency. An ability to align with cross-discipline teams including promo, motion graphics, social and publicity. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment is essential. Knowledge of shoot production and on set experience is also key as oversight of photo shoots is a large responsibility to this position as is print production and process.


Responsibilities
:

  • Reports to the VP of Branding and Design, will be responsible assisting in the development of creative campaigns and creating identity and branding for all internal and partner initiatives.
  • Work with Executive Director and Manager of Branding and Design to assist in the art direction of internal design team as well as helping to communicate ideas/direction to external vendors for Key art creative as well as for Creative Services requests.
  • Ability to assist in the concept, production and design for all design media including print and digital ads, photo shoots, marketing collateral, campaign and website graphics, social tactics, and more.
  • Stretch creatively with each new project, while keeping company objectives and strategic goals in mind. This role needs a strong creative problem solver, who is able to adapt quickly.
  • Strong on set experience to seamlessly collaborate with others on photo shoots. Provide clear direction to photographers in order to achieve desired style and coverage of photography. Also work with photo producers, set designers and wardrobe stylists to get the best results possible.
  • Strong knowledge of print production, proofing process and OOH execution.
  • Participate in brainstorm and planning meetings.
  • Ensure all final work meets creative standards by ensuring they are high-quality design and adhere to the network style guide.
  • Leverage in house talent as well as identify and manage outside creatives.
  • Provide clear vision on how to execute content across all platforms assigned to the Brand.
  • Translate partners needs into unique and compelling creative.
  • Foster teamwork and a collaborative work environment. Inspire team morale and contribute to the overall creative culture.
  • Stay in-tune with Cultural, Industry, Technological and Design trends, as well as emerging talent.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Art Direction and Design/Print experience with a keen understanding of print and digital best practices. Required
  • 10+years of experience working with MacOS and Adobe design software specifically: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Adobe Acrobat, Keynote and Google slides are also needed. Skill in Word, Excel and After Effects a plus.
  • Must have on set experience (working with photographers, set designers and/or talent) Required
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills and be comfortable managing up to network senior executives as well as outward to vendors and photographers.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of the print process (proofing, RGB/CMYK conversions, mechanical approvals, etc.)
  • Must have organizational skills with a high attention to detail and ability to move at a fast pace while not sacrificing creative.
  • Is a self-starter and motivated forward thinker.
  • Be effective in a deadline-driven workflow with varying priorities and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, as well in a team situation. Working under pressure and juggling multiple stages of development are required.
  • Conceptual, big picture thinker with demonstrated experience and trained eye for Design, Photography, Typography and Art Direction.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $145,000 to $199,430 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
