Communications of the ACM (CACM), the leading print and online publication for the computing and information technology fields, is actively searching for an Editorial Assistant to serve as the main mechanism of support for the magazine's Editor in Chief (EIC). In this prestigious role, you will work closely with the EIC as well as CACM's editorial and production teams to ensure the publication's leadership with focus to define, plan, and realize strategic content initiatives, targeted content initiatives, and reader-centric engagement programs.
Your tasks will include:
· Serving as the primary interface between article authors and editors, and the CACM production team for manuscript tracking and processing.
· Tracking progress and identifying obstacles, managing deadlines, and ensuring continual and uniform progress of the editorial process.
· Managing strategic partnerships, including international partnerships.
· Managing the publication's regional and other special sections.
· Developing and implementing social media strategies to promote CACM and CACM special issues.
The ideal candidate will have earned a Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in computer science; is an organized self-starter who can work collaboratively across communities; and possesses a literacy and passion for computing, computer science, and technology. Experience in social media management and promotion, online editorial process management tools such as Manuscript Central is preferred.
