Donor Development Coordinator

The National Black Workers Center (NBWC) seeks a Donor Development Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to join a growing grassroots organization passionate about empowering Black workers to advance their rights and improve the quality of jobs in key employment sectors.
About Us:
In response to disproportionately high levels of unemployment and low-wage work in Black communities, the National Black Worker Center (NBWC) was launched in 2011. The NBWC is a national network of Black worker centers. We support and incubate worker centers that empower Black workers to advance their rights and improve the quality of jobs in key employment sectors. We provide education about the impacts of low-wage work and unemployment on Black communities and work to prevent racial discrimination in hiring and other employment practices and policies. Through our network, we intervene in the labor market to improve racial and economic employment conditions. Our network consists of membership-based and member-driven organizations that utilize a combination of leadership development, organizing, policy advocacy, and strategic communications to build power to address the Black job crisis.
What You’ll Be Doing:
The Donor Development Coordinator is experienced in ensuring data integrity, analyzing donor reports to evaluate and implement action plans, developing/cultivating/stewarding donor relationships, and mobilizing supporters in a manner that drives mission impact and increases overall revenue growth. The Donor Development Coordinator will report to the Development Director and be responsible for ensuring revenue goal achievement through the development and execution of a comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship plan.
The Donor Development Coordinator collaborates with the Development Director, Executive Director, and other senior leaders to develop and implement fundraising strategies to reach annual organizational revenue requirements and build a reserve to support future organizational growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mission Leadership and Impact
- Translate NBWC’s mission, vision, and advocacy in a manner that leverages mission impact opportunities, engaging supporters/prospects in a manner that achieves revenue growth.
- Demonstrate mission knowledge by communicating our work in a manner that delivers impact, leverages support, and results in new mission investment opportunities.
- Demonstrate leadership that mobilizes volunteers, increases donor relationships, and meets organizational fundraising goals while positioning NBWC as the go-to source for insight into the discrimination that Black workers face and the solutions to end anti-Blackness in the workplace.
Diversified Revenue Portfolio
- Maintain and grow a donor revenue portfolio by moving donors through the donor engagement continuum and continually adding new donor prospects.
- Identify diversified revenue opportunities that align with the mission goals of the donor.
- Maintain a year-round revenue pipeline that results in newly secured revenue for campaigns/programs/initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and manage a development strategy to identify mid-level and major gift donors.
- Increase revenue by researching and analyzing revenue growth opportunities.
- Work alongside Development Director in identifying appropriate corporate partners and developing alliances that accelerate the development of strategic partnerships that drives NBWC mission impact and mobilizes supporters.
- Ensure event(s) core tactics are executed, ensuring best-in-class fundraising events that drive impact, acquire new supporters/donors, and increase revenue.
- Provide a tailored experience for donors throughout the year and create mission-led activations for all donors in stewardship plans.
- Ensure the organization has a clear 360-degree view of market donors/prospects by ensuring data integrity and analyzing donor reports via the donor database.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven success in cultivating and securing major gifts.
- Proven success in cultivating and securing corporate partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to work and cultivate relationships across a variety of sectors, communities, and levels to ensure mission alignment and reach.
- Proven marketing and sales skills that engage supporters/prospects to achieve revenue growth.
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership/management skills with the ability to motivate staff and lead change.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience.
